The walkthrough uses demo players and a sample ladder league.
A better Thursday night
Fourteen players. Three courts. Different partners, every game. And at the end of the night, a new ladder. This is a weekly pickleball league, from the first court assignment to next Thursday's draw. Let's run one together, with Pickleball Scorer.
Set up your league
Start with a ladder category in your tournament. Choose doubles, then set the shape of your season: players per group, number of weeks, movement between groups, and the score needed to win a game. Our Thursday league has fourteen players, a six week season, and games to eleven. Set the format once, then manage each week's play from the same place.
Tonight, at a glance
Here is week two. Thirteen players are coming, so tonight uses three courts: one group of five, and two groups of four. Open a court and the games are already arranged. You can see the partners, the opponents, and who sits out. Everyone has a clear place to start, without the organizer rebuilding a schedule every week.
Print the court sheets
Prefer paper beside the court? Open the printable sheets. Each court gets its own games, space for the scores, and a player table. Print them before the session, or keep the digital view open at the desk. The court plan stays easy to follow, whichever way your club likes to play.
Enter a result
Let's finish a game. Open the match menu, choose Enter result, and put in eleven, eight. Save. Now watch the table: the players' points and wins update from that result. Enter the next game and the group positions change again. You can also call a match to a court from the same menu, keeping the evening moving from one place.
Score from the court
Or score it right at the court. In the Pickleball Scorer app, open a game and tap Start. Choose simple scoring when you only need the final score. Or choose advanced and follow the game, point by point. The server is marked on court, and the score stays in view. Just tap the player who won the rally. After a break, the app moves the serve for you. At game point, one last tap records the result. Review the final score and each player's contribution, then return to the court. The group table is already updated. Organizers can score any game, and can let players score their own.
Handle a late change
Someone can't make it after all. Choose the replace player control, then bring in someone who was sitting out this week. The replacement takes that spot in the games still to be played. Results already recorded stay with the players who earned them. One change, without rebuilding the whole evening.
Close the week
When the games are done, close the week. If a result is missing, the warning gives you a chance to catch it before you finish. Enter that last score, then close again. The week is locked, the group results are settled, and movement is applied to the ladder. The arrows show who moves up or down. If you need a correction, the latest closed week can be reopened before the next week is generated.
Generate next week
Now prepare next Thursday. Mark anyone who is away, check the date and starting court, then generate the week. The new groups follow the updated ladder order. Players who moved are on their new courts, and the next set of games is ready. Attendance, results, movement. A repeatable routine for the whole season.
Share the season
The season table brings the weeks together: points each week, the running total, and an average alongside them. Players can follow the published league through a public link, without signing in. Their court, the week's scores, the ladder, and season points are all there. A shared view that helps everyone arrive ready to play.
On every player's phone
In the app, each player gets their own view of the night. It opens on their court and group, with their name highlighted. Every game shows their partner and opponents, and when they sit out. Completed scores appear alongside the games. Tap Ladder to see where you stand. Then open Season to follow points week by week. Swipe across for totals and averages. And when it's time to play, your court is right there.
Run your own ladder
Set up the season. Run tonight's games. Get next week ready. Pickleball Scorer brings the ladder, court sheets, scores, and standings together. Planning a league for your club? Book a demo, or message us with your format. Let's make your next league easier to run.
